About Us

The Christian Democratic Institute (CDI) aims to be an inspiring and effective actor in promoting a more visible and prominent position for traditional Christian moral and cultural values in European and global politics. Its aim is to give a broad voice and platform to its worldview, to create a network capable of communicating messages to the public, and to promote international cooperation between social organizations and political parties with a similar worldview. Ultimately, CDI’s long-term goal is for the traditional Christian worldview to regain a strong majority in European politics once again.

CDI’s short- and medium-term objectives include reaching out to—and strengthening ties with—potential partner organizations, in particular, like-minded, conservative, and Christian organizations, party foundations, and think tanks in Europe and beyond; promoting the exchange of ideas and best practices; focusing on facilitating networking amongst the next generation; formulating the updated definition, responsibilities, and aims of the 21st century Christian Democratic political movement; and helping build a functional, global network of the Christian Democratic International.

With its center of activities located in Budapest, CDI aims to provide opportunities for networking and fostering cooperation among like-minded political and social actors and institutions in Hungary and beyond. The success of CDI will strengthen the foundations on which Europe was built and that are its only hope for survival: stable families, flourishing communities living in freedom, and proudly responsible nations that are built on a common vision of justice, prosperity, and peace.
